Scholarships for Graduate StudentsMaster of Science in Cybersecurity Scholarship Program

First: Scholarship Overview

  • The Saudi Aramco Cybersecurity Chair offers two competitive scholarships for students of the Master of Science in Cybersecurity program.
  • The value of each scholarship is 40,000 SAR, allocated exclusively for tuition fees.

 

Second: Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicant must be a Saudi national.

  • The student must be enrolled in the Master of Science in Cybersecurity program (Thesis Track only) at the College of Computer Science and Information Technology, Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University.

  • The student must be self-funded and not financially supported by any external entity.

  • The student must have successfully completed all designated courses for the first year (first and second semesters) according to the program’s study plan, totaling 18 credit hours.

  • The Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) must not be less than (4.5 out of 5.0).

  • The academic and disciplinary record must be free of any violations or misconduct.

     

Third: Application Requirements and Evaluation Mechanism

 
  • Submission of a research proposal, approved and signed by the supervisor (thesis supervisor).

  • Submission of a letter explaining the reasons for applying for the scholarship.

  • The selection is based on the following criteria:

    • Overall CGPA: 40 points

    • Published research (scientific paper in a conference or scientific journal, or a patent): 40 points

    • Quality of the research proposal (based on the initial evaluation points of the proposal): 20 points

  • Applications are evaluated by a specialized committee, and applicants will be notified of the final decision.

  • The committee’s decisions are final, and there is no right to appeal.

     

Fourth: Academic, Research, and Financial Obligations

 
  • The continuation of the scholarship is based on academic and research progress, and the Chair reserves the right to suspend it in case of academic underperformance or breach of conditions.

  • The student must adhere to scientific research ethics.

  • The student must complete their studies within the minimum standard duration.

  • In the event of an extension, the student is obligated to pay the tuition fees for the remaining period; in the event of suspending studies, the student is obligated to refund all amounts paid on their behalf.

  • During the scholarship period, it is required to fulfill one of the following publication requirements:

    • At least one research paper in a Q1 journal, or

    • Two papers in Q2 journals, or

    • One paper in a Q2 journal and two papers in Scopus-indexed conferences.

  • Papers published prior to receiving the scholarship are not counted.

  • Commitment to using the official affiliation format for the Saudi Aramco Cybersecurity Chair and Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University, while acknowledging the Chair’s support in all scientific publications.

  • The Saudi Aramco Cybersecurity Chair has the right to cancel or withdraw the scholarship in the event of providing incorrect information or academic underperformance, with the student’s obligation to refund all amounts paid on their behalf.

  • The Chair reserves the right to review and amend the conditions and mechanism of the scholarship at any time.
